One of the things I'm grateful for this year is The Arrow--a.k.a. the Eades News Network. Give me ENN over CNN any day. Speaking of, time for some protein over here. Happy Bird!

Just a little rant. People keep talking about how easy it is to lose weight by cutting carbs. I've been carnivore (probably 98%) for a little over two years. Yes, I lost about 20 pounds while carnivore (32 pounds from my all-time high). But, I've been stuck at 180 pounds for about 5 months now, despite what I do. I'm comfortably in size 12 clothing, so I'm not seriously obese (at least I don't consider myself to be), but I'm at a total loss on how to lose more fat. Most days I have zero carbs. Maybe once a week I'll have a few carbs, but less than 15g or so. I've also been getting in three to four 3-mile walks a week, weather permitting (I am in Maine, after all!).

Not knowing how to fix this, today I'm turning again to your recommendations in the "6-Week Cure" book. Two protein shakes a day (supplemented with MCT oil and BCAAs, including 2500mg leucine per shake) and a carnivore dinner. Starting today I'm also going back to weight training. Sure hoping this will work.

Great issue this week. That video was eye-opening and scary. What DID happen to all those people? Where are the investigative reporters these days??? Why hasn't this been all over the news???

I know for a fact that women have been on the “gatherer” side of hunter-gatherers since primordial times. I am quite sure of this because, although I am not in the least girly, and particularly hate buying shoes, I gather sea shells from the beach every single time I go to one. I can’t help myself, and I’ve never heard of a woman who could.

I'm heavily embedded in a liberal family; the Arrow is my attempt to see the world in a different way.

Happy Turkey Day, Mike! Thanks for the shout out.

I feel compelled to note that our lawsuit isn't asking the taxpayers to foot the bill - because they already did! Let me 'splain...

The Constitution only allows military appropriations for 2 years max. (See Art. I, Sec. 8, Cl. 12 "[The Congress shall have Power . . . ] To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years." Austin's vax mandate was Aug 23, 2021. Shortly after that, in the fall, Congress passed the FY22 Nat'l Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). That contained all of the money for pay for the folks in military service at the time (~$155 Bn) for that year through Sep. 30, 2022. It also limited discharges for vaxx refusers to either a General or Honorable discharge. That took courts-martial discharges off the table, meaning the military could only administratively separate the "unvaccinated." They tried a few boards (less than 10 by my count) and lost at least 6 or 7.

Subsequently, on Nov. 30 2021 and following, Austin et al summarily discharged tens of thousands of military members - Active, Reserve, and National Guard - with no boards, none of the processes to which they were entitled. Which was a nice tidy savings for the DoD because now it didn't have to pay those folks for that entire year. The next year's NDAA (FY23) passed in fall of 2022 required Austin to rescind the mandate. DoD kinda sorta did - but they never gave up the money they kept.

That means DoD absconded with that money and they have repeatedly insisted they're not going to give those folks who were discharged their backpay. Which is a nice way of saying the DoD stole billions in pay that was appropriated by Congress for those folks.

...In TOTALLY UNRELATED NEWS the DoD later noted they had found a ~$6Bn "accounting error" that allowed them to send more money to Zelensky and Ukraine.

Please give your lovely bride a hug and I'll look forward to running into you both again somewhere soon.

Speaking of CIRCULATION, awhile back I wrote about the two nitric oxide (NO) production pathways (the endothelium and nitrates from certain foods). So, I did an experiment with NO lozenges which produce NO in the oral cavity. Very quickly my leg, ankle and foot swelling completely disappeared--both limbs. Also, I observed skin coloration changes at two locations. These weren't irregular splotches, but, rather, distinct, symmetrical shapes. So, I assume they're natural.

I recently finished a few weeks living remotely without decent food and finished off the NO lozenge bottle. Now, I'm going to experiment with nitrate containing foods (green leafy vegetables)--along with my protein--and see what happens.

Hope everyone here had a nice Thanksgiving.

One more typo:

These drugs are outrageously expensive and must be taken my injection.

These drugs...by injection.

I wouldn’t think that your readers aren’t too uptight in that they have an issue with the picture. I find it quite amusing, even hilarious. Always appreciate your Stack and look forward to it every week.

Another gem, Mike - especially loved the video showing the results of gruesome Newsom's latest trick; after his attempts to have some state board punish doctors for not "following the science" and - not sure if this went through - allowing schools to vaccinate kids without parental permission, I dread his getting into the White House.

Glad you and fam had a great Thanksgiving - we did too, which is why this is a bit later than usual. I read and posted these last night (swooning with, perhaps, a bit too much wine) but couldn't find them in the comments when I finished. So once more into the breach this morning. Not too many . . .

the relative level of tryptophan increase as compared to the other amino acids.

level of tryptophan increases?

levels are relatively higher in the bloos than aminos

higher in the blood

at an early age at great rates than do those without FH.

at greater rates

shoot them from a far with a gun

I think used this way it's "afar"

they would probably be breast feeing a growing child

breast feeding

Hi Mike - this has just come through, just before bedtime here in the UK, so I'll read it in the morning even though I'd love to read it now - but I wanted to ask: where is The Arrow #151 ?
