I voted for shorter, more frequent pieces. Here's why.

It allows you to comment on the events of the day while they're fresh, rather than a week later.

You're less likely to forget something you want to write about.

You could go more in-depth on topics.

The pressure of a deadline will evaporate.

It will fit in nicely with the fact that you have other projects that need tending to.

I'm in the minority on this one and you'll probably go with the majority, so just food for thought..

I agree with Don, on all counts. PLUS, sometimes on Thursdays I can't read the whole thing before bed,. Sometimes you do go on and on....not that YOU are responsible for my short attention span.

I think you have got it just about right, as I don't do Twitter and need a bit of 'meat'. Furthermore, I'm also with you on some of those 'great' books. I'm now 71, and now I just throw the bloody things across the room and think... WTF! It's much like watching TV (which I don't do often), as I just don't think folk can make any good series any more. The plots are just so full of holes. Bah! Newspapers? Forget it. They give you Covid.

I can relate to your Erlich experience. I also believed the Malthusian bs. Elon Musk is right about needing more people, not fewer. But the population bombers must be very pleased. Most of the "developed" nations are beginning to see birth rate declines (cf. China's one-child policy; will probably cost them a generation).

Re: the need for more skepticism, I worked for a giant IT company when the Y2K event horizon was approaching. Having been a programmer before then, when computer memory was small and expensive, embedded microchips were non-existent, and people who knew nothing about IT were saying "they'll fix it", I was very worried about what could happen. I prepared for worse times, and that has paid back, even though I could see that as the date approached, there was little need for much concern, except possibly for those mysterious embedded chips.

Bottom line, population bombs, catastrophic climate change, Covid-19, and other drivers of "mass formation psychosis" deserve my continuing focus on being skeptical of mainstream narratives.

I look forward to a paid subscription.

I have mentioned before that I read your content back in the days of Tim Steele & Richard Nickoley. I will not pay for Nickoley's substack as I am not interested in his Thailand stories & dating women half his age. I will pay for yours though!

I believe I stopped reading your news letters awhile ago because it was mostly low carb and losing weight. I am the opposite of that spectrum. Plus my goal is to put my RA into remission. Still haven't managed that but am highly functional without drugs. I have had many naturopaths tell me I need to give up golf due to all the chemicals on the course. That ain't going to happen!

I enjoy your blog as it always leads me to people I haven't heard about or some that I have but didn't know they had an article, podcast etc.

So I appreciate your hard work. Look forward to reading every Friday morning out on the lanai, weather permitting.

Thank you for sharing your doomsday story.

Im here perhaps for all the reasons others dropped away..

Im not certain how i found you.. it may have been Ivor Cummins, but it was the first half of 2020 and i felt very relieved and comforted to have found a wise beacon of light. I looked forward to your newsletter and loved everything about it. Being fairly isolated, i also liked your mentions of MD. It was comforting somehow.

I have tried low carb, over 20 years ago and found it amazing. I was a little limited though as being a yoga practitioner i prefer not to eat animal products and was allergic to dairy and eggs.. so Ive followed more of a macrobiotic whole grains, fish, pulses seaweeds way since then. Im not American so politics is not my main priority, though i am generally interested in this as i realise it effects all of us.

I was really here for your perspective on all things covid.. for guidance through the insanity. You are somebody i felt i could trust and I’m very grateful indeed.

The vaccines have really divided us all in such a devastating way and I’m so sorry to hear how its effected your readership.

This is all of ongoing interest to me.

Thank you so much for speaking truth, come what may.

Blessings to you, MD and your family 💛

Unlike some of your ex-readers I don’t want to live in an intellectual silo; so I’ll not be leaving if I disagree with you. I wasn’t sure about your views on vaccines, especially at first, but I’m still here, having come to accept some of your points & found myself taking a slightly more rational path (with the benefit of hindsight) thanks to your musings. It’s important to me, that you do not claim your view point is any more than that, albeit a well educated & experienced one. ‘The science’ is probably the most irresponsible phase of modern parlance, as well as being something of an oxymoron. Be more cynical is the advise I would give my younger self, so on that we are very much aligned.

My only slight negative response really comes on US politics, as I’m not from the US I sometimes have no idea who or what you are writing about, but when you keep it high level that helps me understand a complex process which is all the more confusing for being sort of based on the UK system but different enough to make very wrong assumptions if one is not very cautious.

I continue to look forward to your writing which I find interesting & exceedingly accessible. So thank you for your efforts.

I hope you'll continue to keep the nutrition information free for everyone. I read your old blog for years, and re-read many of them multiple times. The information motivated me more than I can tell you and helped me to achieve a weight loss that I didn't think was possible. I've bought most of your books (I don't have a copy of Thin So Fast) and plan to buy your upcoming book. You have a talent for communicating nutrition information clearly and have helped so many people.

The weekly edition of 'The Arrow' invariably contains a gem or two, be it on reading/viewing recommendations or incisive comments on numerous but interrelated topics. A 70 lb weight loss on a keto/IF regimen over 4 years has been rewarded by a pain-free life now going into my 76th year. In the words of Tolstoy: most people would rather die than change their habits.

Like some others here I’m from the UK, and The Arrow arrives in the morning. It’s there when I wake up and I read it straight away in bed with my cup of tea. I’ll certainly subscribe to it as I enjoy so much the way you write - I could never imagine I could enjoy reading about a car when you wrote about your Tesla, but it’s your writing style that means you're able to make any topic interesting to read. And often amusing too :-) I have your books, I found The Protein Power Lifeplan back in 2007 when I adopted a Paleo/low carb type way of eating. I’ve never had a weight problem but it was the other health aspects of that way of eating that caught me. I enjoy your current articles in The Arrow about Covid and the vaccines too, I’ve learned a lot from them. I know nothing about American politics so that’s all a bit over my head but I keep reading what you write - and I look forward to The Arrow every Friday morning.

You're aces, Doc. Keep up the good work! Personal note: Your presentation on 'An alternative theory of obesity' led me down the n-6 fats rabbit hole (along with Knobbe and especially Tucker Goodrich) to my great good advantage. Thanks!

Hello,

It was Ivor Cummins who directed me to The Arrow. My interest in therefore primarily in health, in particular low-carb diet and Covid-19, vaccines, etc..

As a European, your comments on US politics, traffic problems, the weather in Texas and elsewhere, as well as your family life, are of no interest to me, but I suppose that the vast majority of your readers are based in the US and might think otherwise.

The Arrow arrives in Europe during our night and I read it at breakfast. From my point of view it is too long. Therefore I would favour more frequent and shorter messages.

I ended up receiving two copies of The Arrow and have unsubscribed from one.

Thank you for all the time and effort you put into producing The Arrow. If the price is not too high I would be willing to subscribe.

Best wishes

How about avoiding Omega-6 oils totally. How does that affect Diabetes Type II.

I do hope that all your info on metabolic issues will be available for free. I always scroll through to find those first then read more if / when I have time. Especially because….. YACON SYRUP!….. I cannot believe what it seems to be doing for my blood sugar. I am 80 and have been trying to reduce my blood sugar for about twenty years, soon after your book helped me become aware that gluten was causing the pain in my hands, and going lo carb but No matter what iteration of low carb I tried I remained with fasting glucose in the low 100’s. Used a continuous glucose monitor for 6 months. Still could not solve the puzzle. But am amazed at the numbers now and will continue with the syrup. It does not seem to reduce my appetite very much if at all. But if it is resolving insulin resistance , a great thing in itself, I might also lose some weight over the long haul. I don’t need to lose much..5 to 10 pounds.

Been with you forever and a day..... hoping you continue to do your book reviews. Really loved that the best.

Also I always ponder each week if you and MD ever get completely tired of going back and forth and back and forth between CA and TX. It sounds SO exhausting. The many plane mishaps and flight issues you share every other issue always has me miffed.

Guess the golf is good in Cali ⛳️

Have fun in the freedom state this week 🌴

Hi all! Does anyone recall the supplement Dr. Eades recommend for keeping your veins slippery like fish slime? If so, will you please kindly share a link to the specific product? I looked around at the time but became overwhelmed. Thank you!

All I can remember is him recommending the tart cherry

I ordered it but need to start taking it.

Wonder what it is?

I think it was chondroitin but I’m not sure. I think that’s for joints. Let me know how the tart cherry works for you.
