My daughter and boyfriend are in India on an assignment. I let them know of the products made by Global Pharma. So thanks for putting it on the radar!

I think your take on the CIA video is 100% spot on, Mike. Too many shades on this one to even begin to delve, but it looks like you're well tuned in to all the nefarious and unintended possible outcomes from something so schoolyard brazen and hubristic as this to my mind, a former Cold Warrior in the thick of it back at its height in the mid '80s.

It's unsurprising, though, in light of recent revelations about our "intelligence" and "law enforcement" agencies over fairly recent years, though. They seemingly harbor very deep fantasies, not only about their competence and effectiveness, but about their ability to operate undetected and unexposed.

Maybe they've watched too many spy films and read too many spy thriller novels.

I ought to add a clarifying comment.

There is a stigma associated with a young woman being seen with an older "farang." People will make certain assumptions. But while those assumptions are certainly possibilities, there are others. I know a hefty number of older expats such as myself settled down and married with young women half and less their age who aren't and never were bar girls. Doctors, lawyers, architects (there are a lot of Thai female architects for some reason), insurance and real estate professionals, the list goes on.

By following The Formula as I've outlined, you give her the comfort that people won't just assume "the worst," and entertain other possibilities.

I read the Express article about excess deaths and noticed oncologists' concern that some (unknown how many - an investigation is called for) of the excess deaths are likely due to delays in treatment, an ongoing problem in the UK but exacerbated by the pandemic.

And here I thought I had nothing to play with tomorrow except garden weeds - thanks again for all the amazing links and ideas.

Just a couple of niggles:

(an unexpectedly in these times of college administrative cowardice)

(and unexpectedly. . . .?)

“(Those Data DID, I’m sure! Whatever they were.)

Not sure you need the quote at the beginning of this section, particularly since there's no closing quote - and I assume this is what you're saying about the data.

Fun checking things out tomorrow - thanks again.

On the leg lengthening.

I learned something very interesting from an Asian gal (who else?) some years ago. Says she, "I have never gone out with a guy less than 5'10"" (I'm 5'10" exactly).

"You are the minimum. Usually, he must be 6' or more. I will go out with 5'10" and above, but ONLY if they PROJECT 6' and above."

I'm still not exactly sure what that means. Perhaps what I call "doing the formula" here in Thailand for the older guys (50s, 60s) who enjoy the company of the 20s and 30s.

1. Short hair, clean-shaven. Bald is fine. Go with it. No comb overs or obvious attempts to hide it; signals insecurity, which is death for Asian women.

2. Don't drink too much, never be publicly drunk. Asian gals don't think it's funny. Ever. Corollary: don't "talk bad" about anyone.

3. Be in reasonable shape, no beer gut. Be tanned, go to the beach, swim in the ocean. Pumping iron is overrated. They aren't impressed. Real life activity is a turn-on.

4. Wear slacks-style shorts, solid color, and solid color linen collard shorts. No socks ever. They look ridiculous. If you wear flip-flops, get classy, beefier leather ones.

5. Carry yourself like a CEO. Stand up tall, always give the impression of hyper-awareness. You stand above the fray. You're stoic and calm. Never display emotions and never public affection. Display, instead, public protectiveness. Hold her hand walking across the street, then let it go. Not affection, protection.

6. Get #5 right, and it makes them horny, even if 30 years your junior.

Something about Nina Teicholz's quote triggered me. What would be the top 3 things would I do to put the genie back in the bottle related to health?:

1) Not allow direct advertising of pharmaceuticals to the public.

2) Discredit Keys' Lipid/Heart Hypothesis

3) Have Reagan veto the bill that created Big Pharma Immunity from lawsuits from vaccine injury. Others? The Bariatric Carnivore
